Feel Good Everything

The other night, I was able to hang out with some good ol’ Davao company and as expected, the night was filled with laughter, silliness and food trippin’ all the way - NO bad vibes at all. :)

We met up at greenbelt, had dinner at Recipes, and dessert after at Caffe Ti Amo.

The dainty place was situated in between greenbelt 1 and 4. There was a waft of rich waffle scent in the air that did nothing but made you crave for it, and the colorful display of gelato was just as enticing. They had a variety of desserts to choose from but we were deciding between the two scoops of gelato for only P95 or the quarter waffle (damn, that scent really worked on us!) with gelato and fresh fruits for only a hundred bucks plus.

Tuh-duh! We were kind of disappointed with the tiny tiny scoop of gelato but the whole thing was good anyway. I ordered the tiramisu one. Om!

With John, Ezer, Migel, Laila and Mau! It was great seeing you all again. Won’t be long ‘til the next meet up, I hope!

As for what I wore, I grabbed a P400+ worth dress from a bazaar and a denim shirt since it was a cold drizzling night out. :)

Well, that’s pretty much it. Thank you Ate Luz for enthusiastically taking my outfit photos! Haha ‘til next time!

Hooray for new distractions!

The middle book is a pasalubong to me from my dad from a years back that I never got to read. It’s pages are all yellow now! Gonna be my 3rd read for the summer :-) And the other two illustration books are from the second hand bookstore at the mall - Booksale.

From the back summary of Amy Tan’s Saving Fish from Drowning: “This mesmerizing tale is about the actions we choose, the moral questions we might ask ourselves, and, above all, the deeply personal answers we seek when happy endings seem far out of reach.”

A preview of David Macaulay’s The Way We Work. I was having second thoughts of buying this because it seemed kinda childish, but after browsing through the pages, I was sold! It covered all the basic topics I could think of, others I still couldn’t fully understand or even remember (this memory of mine stinksss like shite) and besides I could let my future kiddo read this and it just might inspire him/her :) Lookie, a pool of poop says “Is that a light at the end of the tunnel I see?” Haha hilarious!

The one at the farthest left is so far my favorite creature from Randy Martinez’s Creature Features! I can’t wait to follow his techniques and copy his drawings! I’ve been so jaded lately, it’s definitely not funny. And I’ve always loved monsters. Always.

Spidey Inception

It was the laziest of all lazy days and my only accomplishment for the day was progressing a few pages in my Hunger Games pocketbook. I was lying in bed in the opposite way, head where my foot is supposed to be, because of how the light in my room was positioned. Continually reading, clock ticking it’s way up to midnight, I could already feel the heaviness in my eyelids.. the similar feeling I had a few hours ago which had put me to sleep and made me waste the whole afternoon away.

Eyes closed, I couldn’t move. I didn’t care for the glaring bright white light that set upon me. I ignored my usual routine of a sip of water before retiring. The book lay atop a pillow and fell towards my face, it jerked me a bit, but I still couldn’t find enough strength to turn off the lights, or let alone fix my position on the bed. Then a thought lingered in my head. My friend once told me that sleeping in the opposite position attracted haunting spirits. Bullshit, despite its creepy consistency based on my experiences of vivid and sometimes bangungot-like dreams every time I found myself sleeping that way. I dismiss the idea, and succumb to the depths of REM.
And then I wake up. The room is now dark with only a tiny night light to keep us feeling safe. I vaguely remember telling a sleepy ate luz to turn off the lights as she headed to the restroom. I turn to my right side and find myself staring at an intricate design. It was sort of transparent, shiny, with hexagonal shapes. It was a pattern, I look closer, and I swear I’m not kidding when I say I stared at it for a good few minutes only to get freaked out. It’s a cobweb!!!! Right beside my bed - only a few inches from my head!! I quickly move myself away from it, now on the other farthest end of my bed. I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn’t.. not with that thing still there, just there. Then that’s it, I changed my position. Head and toes where the head and toes are supposed to be.
And then I dream. Of random things, and perhaps a cobweb or two were put in there as well. How could I not? It was haunting me. Why in the hell could a spider have the chance to set-up a home beside my bed when I always pass by that area?! Morning has settled and I get up, and after a few more minutes of fully awaking one’s self.. I dare to take a closer look. The sunlight entered the room thinking It’ll help me clearly see the web for sure. But there was nothing. I wave my hand around the area, nothing.
That isn’t the only freaky instance that happened to me. I remember the time when I was a kid, still sleeping in my parent’s room and snuggly tucked in between them. I wake-up, again, in the middle of the night. I look up, and see a spider coming towards me, hanging on the ceiling by its thread. I shut my eyes, and hoped for the best. Nothing happened, but promise when I say what I saw seemed so real.
What is up with all these spider apparitions? I am not fond nor have paranoia over them, nor do I have powers that require great responsibility.. so tell me, what do they all mean? Oh wait, nevermind. I think I’d rather not know.

Quick, before it’s too late

We’re almost half up in the year. The anniversary of the biggest royal wedding, and the death of one of the world’s most despicable terrorists. Didn’t those events just recently happen? Where have the days gone by? I find myself in the same position since way back when I’ve dreamed of bigger things. A classic epitome of getting stuck in a rut. The role model of your metal’s rust. I’ve never wanted change this bad, and it’s harder to do then I ever imagined it could be.

I stay running from tomorrow

Didn’t know how much this line meant to me until I heard her sing it this way. Lindsey you are amazing I can’t wait to hear all the songs you’ve sung. <3 Watch her sing it here! Yes, you must.

It’s getting late to face it all

Holy Week

My lovely week with the family sa far - in pictures! :) I’m not really in the wordy mood lately..

We ordered yummy main dishes but let’s skip to the dessert part. Here, ladies and gentlemen, is the lovely tiramusu. This big chunk of heaven is for a hundred plus pesos only wherein three people could share it already. I love it.

Their bestseller, the chocolate decadence! You may think it’s too sweet for your taste, but it’s surprisingly not! This was really yummy as well.

Felt good to be surrounded with my close relatives this holy week. Hope you’re having a great week too, with your family and the Lord. :)

Gyri Sulci Food

The rents are back for holy week! And as usual, dining at Cyma will forever be part of our routine. Everything was sooo good!

Solomos Angel Hair

What’s interesting is that the Mediterranean diet is considered to be great brain food. Their menus are traditionally loaded with fruits, vegetables, legumes and cereals. They primarily use olive oil, fish is eaten more often than poultry or meat, and a little red wine on the side can boost up your memory as well. If only I could have this everyday. :)~

(Hello ate jo! Yes, I’m currently reading your Think Smart pocket book! Pahiram.. and all the other stuff lying around in the condo. Mwahaha annoying little sis mode ON >:))
